Well, not a day completely off the Internet--one wants to catch the headlines, check e-mail, touch base with the Great Connection.
Still, I'm an art shop--reader, writer, musician, photographer--not a daily news organization, and I can (and will) step away from the computer.
Odds & ends:
- Reading completed: Patai, Raphael. The Arab Mind. New York: Charles Scribner's Sons, 1973.
- Reading begun: Malraux, Andre. Man's Fate. Haakon M. Chevalier, Translator; Madeline Sorel, Illustrator; forward by John Leanard. New York: Random House, 1984.
Probably, when I return to this machine, I'll return to what I've been calling "The Hopkins Project" AKA Maryland Food Traditions and the delivery of more than 50 pictures for a book about dining in Maryland's most established chow houses.
Then on to promoting "Communicating Arts--Photography", which I have let languish with so much busyness elsewhere. Truth to tell, that part of the machinery is well equipped, backed up, and well past ready to roll.
As I seem to enjoy mornings in my garden, I may try my hand at enjoying mornings in other people's gardens.
