"Why could the government not stop the crazy behavior by the Taliban who are worse than beasts?" [1]
I didn't say it.
The father of the second hostage killed by the Taliban, Shim Seong-min, did.
I have seen a lot of footage out of Afghanistan and Iraq--convoys ambushed, reporters killed by rocket fire, unknown "militants" (quotation marks because a "heat spot" on a helicopter's gun site conveys no evidence to that effect, evidence having been secured elsewhere well before the attack) killed by aerial rocket fire and bombing, even Iraqi insurgent firing on and damaging a U.S. Marine position--but this strikes me as the most powerful of them all: receiving in death the body of one's innocent child.
