It's ugly Out There today, and I'm not going to pretty up the news roll call here.
IMHO: the faster events move along the Afghani-Pakistani border and surrounding region, the more quickly militants may be obliged to respond, pick up the pace of their own initiatives, and move, which visibility initiates and feeds combat. Whoever, whatever proves last to feed the fire wins a patch of influence for a while.
