    More colloquially translated: "Those who are kind to the cruel, in the end will be cruel to the kind."

Islamic Cultural Diversity: UVA Video from 2003

I'll put the same to other use soon, I hope, but thought these two speakers might signal the kind of broad and complex streams coursing through the world's Islamic communities that for wrestling intellectually, quietly, with modernity and Islam garner so much less attention than the constantly violent, riveting, and sensational mountain and desert Jihadi.

I'd like to read more, soon, about Pashtun villager resistance to militants in the Swat Valley but it seems I must wait on scribes reporting to Reuters and others to get it--not fun, sometimes, this second-row seat to history.
