"The elders held the government at fault for pounding the alleged hideouts of the militants from F-16 jets and gunship helicopters, saying it should go for crackdown on selective areas with ground forces. “The only causality in the area are civilians, who are either killed or injured in the airstrikes by Pakistan Air Force and once in a blue moon an abandoned militant hideouts is targeted,” they claimed."
What the elders say may well be true, for one thing is certain: there can be no mere showbiz war with militants in Pakistan for whom no show of force would be adequate to dull aspirations for action against the state.
Moreover, no ambivalent or uncertain reconaissance would suit the conditions of this geurrilla war prosecuted on the militant's side without uniforms and through personal relationships cloaked in privacy.
Always wanted for these troubles, and that whether in Islam or Ireland: detectives, poets, and soldiers.
